Andrew S. Merrill

Dover-Foxcroft - Andrew S. Merrill (49) of Dover-Foxcroft, ME, surrounded by love, entered into his Eternal home June 15, 2019, following an illness. He was cared for by family and a team of loving individuals.
He was born on May 12, 1970, Mother's Day, to John and Barbara Merrill of Dover Foxcroft. Andrew was the oldest of three children, with one brother and one sister.
Andrew loved family and friends, was very fond of his many nieces, nephews & cousins, with fond memories.
He loved cooking, camping, hiking, kayaking or canoeing, fishing, hiking, skiing or hanging around the fire pit (or building it) ... As much outdoor adventure as he could get kept him happy and smiling.
Andrew was an independent thinker about most things, developing a dry humor and wit. He relished life and the new things to learn, go or do. Many called working a job but to him it was a means to his adventures. Lunch break often found him watching his daily tv program- listening to a preacher's study or sermon. He enjoyed the solitude it afforded but applied it to life. He was one to remind others of the need to forgive.
Andrew is survived by his mother Barbara (Hitchcock Merrill) Parker & her husband Richard Parker of N New Portland, one brother, Aaron Merrill of Dover Foxcroft, & one sister Julie (Merrill) Chabot and husband Ross of Winslow. He had a surviving maternal grandmother Jean Hitchcock of Dover Foxcroft. Three aunts: Kathleen and John (TJ) Tijerina of Corpus Christi, TX; Cynthia and Larry Ronco of Dover Foxcroft, and Gloria Merrill of Dade City, FL and two uncles, Richard Merrill from Danville NH, and Rex Martin of Sangerville.
His step family includes two sisters, Serena and David Poland of Levant and Heidi Parker and Chris Lawson of Alexandria, VA, and two brothers, Joel and Virginia Parker of Readfield and Joshua and Donna of Windsor. Also a longtime friend was Sherri Sawyer of Hudson.
Andrew was preceded by his father, John P Merrill, grandparents Dwight and Patricia Merrill, and Arthur Hitchcock Jr., all of Dover Foxcroft; one Aunt Joani (Merrill Thomas) Martin of Sangerville, Uncle, James Merrill of Addison; also a cousin and great-niece, toddlers.
