Dover-Foxcroft, Maine - Gary Lane Sudsbury Sr., 81, born in Guilford, Maine, on May 18, 1943, passed away at Mid Maine Hospital in Portland on March 25, 2025.

Gary went back to school and received his GED in the 1980s. He worked for Guilford of Maine for more than 30 years. After doing this he was the animal control officer for the area, and did this for 18 years. He truly loved this job because he was passionate about animals, large or small. Gary was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He married Ramona Perkins on January 1, 1999, they shared 26 years together. Gary had 4 children, 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, hunting and camping at his favorite spot, South Outlet in Kokadjo. Gary was extremely active in his community. He was a member of Dover-Foxcroft Fire Department, where he felt an honor being a part of the department. He also helped out in the area Kiwanis. He was a member of the Masons Lodge #52, was an active Shriner, and he was involved in the Piscataquis Valley Fair. Gary is going to be remembered for his sense of humor. When you saw him, he always had a smile on his face and was quick to make someone else smile. He took great pride in his community, love and caring for animals, his willingness to help, and most of all his love for his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ramona; 4 children, Gary Jr. (Heidi), Valerie (Douglas Warren Jr.), James (Michelle) and Katie Millett; 10 grandchildren; Cameron and Cody Mushero, Gary III and partner, Melissa Lovel, Albert, Connor, Douglas Warren III (Tucker), Zachery Warren, Alex Sudsbury-Francois and husband, Matthew Sudsbury-Francois, Nicholas and wife, Raegan, and Brantley Millett; and 2 great-grandchildren; Gary IV and Carter. He also had a very special grandson, Kashiuss Cole. Gary had 2 very special nephews that meant a lot to him, Jeffrey Sincyr and Michael Sincyr. Gary was predeceased by a very special friend, Eddie Lewis; and many brother firefighters, brother Masons, and fellow Shriners.

There will be a celebration of life on April 12, 2025, at 2 p.m. at the Piscataquis Fair Grounds. Family will be doing this as a potluck style, so please bring a dish to share. Please bring your memories or stories of Gary to share along with any pictures you would like to display.
