Dover-Foxcroft, Maine - Guy Edward Raymond, a beloved husband, father, brother, Papa, and community member, passed away on October 11, 2025. Guy was born in Old Town, to parents Romeo and Gladys Raymond.

He began working in construction at a young age while learning the craft of woodworking from his father. As he moved into adulthood, Guy continued to hone the craft of woodworking through his larger construction work and in personal projects building picnic tables and bookshelves. In his later years, he was a custodian at Morton Avenue Elementary in RSU 68 and began volunteering his time at the Piscataquis Regional Food Center. Guy was a dedicated member of his community; always offering his time and kindness to the people around him. Guy was a man of craft and nature. A lover of fishing, hunting, woodworking, and gardening. The ability to be outside or creating brought him the most joy. He passed this joy onto his children and grandchildren by involving them in his process and building in honor of them. There wasn't a summer with Guy that didn't involve picnic tables, camping trips, and rhubarb. When Guy allowed himself a moment to slow down, he would be found completing a daily word search, listening to bluegrass, and watching Colombo. Those closest to Guy, knew him as Papa. A witty, loving, and joyous grandfather. Papa, a name then adopted by all in his immediate family. A man who showed through his words and actions the importance of hard work, creativity, and investing in your community. A man who taught the perfect design of a belly-laughing joke. A man who proved that love was an action of being present and giving it all of your heart.

Guy is survived with endless love and admiration by his wife of fifty-three years, Christine; and their three daughters, two sons, and eight grandchildren. His loved ones would like to extend their gratitude to the medical staff at EMMC and Mayo Regional Hospital for their comfort and tireless work.

Guy touched the hearts of many and will be dearly missed.
