Dover-Foxcroft and Monson, Maine - After several months of declining health Joyce Elaine (Berry) Lander, 91, passed away in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, on November 19, 2025. She was born in Monson, Maine, on March 28, 1934, the only child of Fred and Doris (Pugh) Berry.

She married Robert E. Lander on June 26, 1949, and they made their home in Monson with their three sons. Joyce operated a beauty shop out of her home for many years. They enjoyed traveling all over the United States and the Canadian Provinces before becoming 'snowbirds,' splitting their time between their homes on Piper Pond in Abbot, Maine, and Harbor Isles in North Port, FL.

Joyce is survived by her sons and their wives, Gregory and Janie of Guilford, Scott and Debbie of Dover-Foxcroft, and Dayne and Lorna of Abbot. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Scott Jr. and Wendy Lander of Dover-Foxcroft, Stephanie and Troy Higgins (Michaela and Jacob) of East Rochester, NH, and Dustin and Kristen Lander (Chase) of Guilford. As an only child, her cousins were extra special, Dolly (Bob) White of Dover-Foxcroft, Beverly Ingraham of Thorndike and Joseph (Kay) Wood of Palmyra; as was her best friend of eighty-five years, Ann Elliott of North Port, FL. She deeply grieved the loss of her husband, Bob, in 2024; and their beloved grandson, Joshua, in 1991.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Hibbard's Skilled Care at West Main Street Assisted Living, Brock Healthcare Hilltop Manor and Bristol Hospice for their patience and dedicated care during Joyce's transition from living independently to needing assistance for all of her needs.

Graveside memorial services for both Robert and Joyce will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Monson 11 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2026, followed by a gathering at Monson Gymnasium for a sharing of memories and light refreshments.
