Roger Packard

Events

Abbot - Roger Packard passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, July 10 after a long illness that tested his love of life and strength, yet endured well with his determination and amazing sense of humor.
Roger above all else loved his family, fishing, baseball and telling stories of times gone by. Up until he was no longer able he did all of these and enjoyed them all. He maintained his sense of humor through all of the trials right up to the malted milk balls he would sneak against medical advice.
Roger will be missed by his devoted wife of 47 years, Dianna; Children Laurie and her husband Andy, Tim and his wife Heidi and Charlie and his wife Courtney; 7 Grandchildren including Tylla and Sam who could tell a story or two about their Papa that would surely make him smile and 5 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, July 18 at 1pm at the Davidson Road cemetery in Abbot. Following the service all are invited to Tim and Heidi's to share a tear, smile and story in his honor at 35 West Road in Abbot.

The summer I spent with Roger playing baseball has to be one of those once in a lifetime memories. You would have to be there to really appreciate the memory. Life should be filled with joyful memories.

We got in a wrestling match in a patch of poison ivy. We were laughing and having a great time until his father, Lytle, told us where we were. Sometimes laughing at your mistakes can be fun too.

Roger loved his family. He was like a brother to Ken, friend and brother in law, also a mentor to many. We loved listening to the many stories of times past that he shared. Roger will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of his family.

I am somewhat new to Abbot but Roger made me feel welcome with a “wave”. Some may have felt offended by this but I was ready with a reply. Roger’s time as Abbot Selectman was a good as he really cared about “us”. RIP Friend” .

You were thought about often I might not always have called you but my heart was there. I will always remember the best thing was the day you talked me into going back to high school, we ended up graduating together class of 1965 at P.C.H.S in Guilford. Boy those were some great days. Just two days apart we always joked about our age seeing that we were the best July babies for 1946. Rest in Pease Roger. Will mess your smiling face. May God be with you all. Love cousin Charlotte.
